It is very easy to sit slumped at our work desks – but when the end of the day comes, and it is time to go home, do your have an aching back  and does your neck ache as well  ? I know mine does,  I always have that rasping burning sensation and an ache in my back that takes for ages to go away. I know what is causing it but until now I have done nothing about it.

I was flicking through our main catalogue trying to find something to use for my 60 second pitch at my local BNI chapter. I found the Kensington Solesaver Foot Rest. It is an adjustable Foot Rest, it elevates your legs and   that helps improve circulation, helps ease tired feet and improves the circulation. It is ideal if you have an aching back

It is adjustable and it will slide easily under your desk and you just rest feet on it when ever you need to. I have not stopped using it and this really useful gizmo has been amazing. As well as the Solesaver, there are lots of other things you can do to ease your aches and pains.

Here are the top five things you can do to help

  • Sit up straight and try not to slouch
  • Check that your chair is at the right height for you and your desk – make sure it is an adjustable office chair that is designed for the purpose  !
  • Keep well hydrated through out the day.
  • Take regular breaks by getting up and walking around.
  • Invest in a Kensington Solesaver Foot Rest

We spend so much time at our desks, it is really really important, that we take care of ourselves. If you have an aching back  it will make you less productive, instead of thinking about the task you need to do, you just think about how much it hurts. So talk to your Health and Safety officer or your line manager to make sure you are healthy while sitting at your desk.
